| La Ferme du Mont is a collaborative project between grower Gabriel Rey and winemakers Stephane Vedeau and Claude Serra. The 2005 Gigondas is sourced from vineyards on the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains. Stoney soil and excellent exposure to the southern sun. It is a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
Dark garnet hues. Enticing aromas of white pepper and red cooked jams. Clean and round on the palate, with balanced cherry licorice and rosemary spice tastes. Slight touch of anise on the end, which is just long enough, punctuated with mild tannins that carry off. 2005 is a classic vintage for Southern Rhone wines and this represents incredible value at the price. |
